AfterCheck help
Email scanners and link prefetching
Some email providers, corporate inboxes, and security tools automatically open or inspect links before a person clicks them. This can make raw email-link activity look higher than actual customer engagement.
AfterCheck protects feedback accuracy by separating raw link activity from trusted feedback responses.
A customer's first trusted sentiment click can still record immediately. Requests that look like automated scanning, previewing, or prefetching are logged separately and excluded from response totals. Suspicious clicks may ask the customer to confirm their selection before it counts as feedback.
This means you may occasionally see a difference between raw link activity and submitted responses.
- **Responses** are trusted or verified customer feedback submissions.
- **Raw link activity** includes link visits, previews, and scanner-like traffic.
- **Filtered activity** is suspicious automated traffic that AfterCheck excluded from response totals.
For early pilots, avoid treating raw link activity as customer sentiment. Test feedback requests with your real sending domain and recipient inbox environment before broad sends.
